Our ministers are Rev. Dr. David Anderman and Rev. Dr. Alice Anderman.

Rev. Dr. David E. Anderman became Senior Minister in November, 2000. The son of a clergyman, he grew up in Shamokin, a small town in the coal regions of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He received an AB degree from the University of Pennsylvania followed by an MA in Ministry from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago. He was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 1975. In 1982 he earned the degree of Doctor of Ministry.
Rev. Dr. Alice Anderman was born and grew up in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She received her BS degree in Art Education from Millersville University and then taught art for four years in the Solanco School District. In 1973 Alice returned to school to study for the ministry at Lancaster Theological Seminary, from which she graduated in 1976 with a Master of Divinity degree. In 2000 Alice was awarded her Doctor of Ministry Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary. She was called as Minister at First Congregational in 2001.
Before coming to Maine, David and Alice served at a number of churches in Maryland and Pennsylvania, both as co-pastors and individually. They have each served on many committees in the association, conference, and national church levels. Since arriving in Maine, Alice has been particularly active in the Maine Conference's partnership with Honduras, travelling there a number of times to meet with our partners and plan for future mission trips. David completed a national Pastor-Theologian program sponsored by the Lilly Endowment, a program that fosters theological research, writing and dialogue.
The Andermans have two children, Rachael and Jonathan. Rachael is a graduate of Hamilton College and is currently finishing a masters degree in physics and working on teacher certification. Jonathan, who will graduate in May 2005 from Pennsylvania State University, will begin law school in the fall, focusing on bioethics.
